Recent years have seen incessant safety failures in China

and how to prevent similar accidents has been made a priority by the top leaders in the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Among those safety failures

geological landslides and building collapses account for a large portion. Those quality failures in construction works were partly caused by flaws in management

design

and construction. In spite of those design and calculation errors leading to quality failures

there ate other technical problems that deserve in-depth studies. As an effort to avoid similar mistakes

improve design quality

and further technology development

the author offers his analysis of several quality failures in the post and telecommunication construction works and their connections to those serious national engineering accidents.
