Based on the China Advanced Information & Optical Network （CAINONET）

this paper has studied the effect of the main performance parameters in the adding OTU output port （optical transmitter） on the performances of optical networks with OXCs and OADMs

including style of modulation

offset of center frequency

output power

modulating chirp

linewidth of laser

extinction ratio

and so on. Furthermore

some stimulation has been done by way of the CAINONET stimulating system. And the results achieved from simulating have provided references and advices for debugging and updating CAINONET and for making the optical network standards.
