The Weibull/PIA(Principle of Indepent Action) and Batdorf models are ap-plled to statistical analysis of fracture strength of structural ceramic components with crack in body under multiaxial stresses. As an example
the probability of failure distributions for H. P. Silicion Nitride disk fracture strength under high speed rotation has been estimated numerically with a finite element method on the basis of the model parameters obtained r'rom 3-point bending experiments of H. P. Silicion Nitride
and compared with experimental data available from literature. The results indicate the considerable superiority of the Batdorf model over the Weibull/PIA model in accuracy and confirm the non-conservative nature of the latter.
