The boundary element equations of 2 D elastic contact problems are established by the incremental principle and some concrete approaches to solution of the contact procedure are considered.The contact stresses of the dove tail and the pine tree joints of the disk/blade assembly are numerically analyzed.From the comparsion of the numerical results of boundary element methods(BEM)with those of FEM and photoelasticity experiments it is concluded that the results of BEM are satisfactory in contrast with FEM
the BEM not only simplifies data preparation but also gives the results of the same accuracy level with fewer discrete elements and saves the computer time tremendously.
