A new measuring technique is presented which combines holographic interferometry and image derotation to determine the behaviour of disc blade coupling vibration during high speed rotation. The measuring technique and its optical system have been verified by the test of a model circular disc. The primary test results of a real disc blade coupling are given which show the obtained holograms of rotating members to correspond to the results of vibration theory analysis and frequency spectrograms. Therefore
it is possible to expect this technique to be an effective testing measure for aeroengine designing and troubleshooting.
