A comprehensive basic analysis for various triple countra roating turbines is given with the blade element stage assumption. The appropriate independent variables and evaluation criteria of the triple countra rotating turbine stages are first presented by analogy with the classical analysis of conventional turbine stages. Then three typical kinds of rotating blade rows are defined and all possible typical schemes of such stages are enumerated.Their characteristics of specific work and load distribution of the triple countra rotating shafts are presented in a very simple form. The typical triple countra rotating turbine stages suitable to the three shaft gas turbine power plants are analysed and given. From the analysis results it is concluded that the load capacity per unit engine length of the triple countra rotating turbines can be much higher than that of the conventional turbines.
