Experimental and numerical methods were applied together to investigate the influence of cuniform-fin geometry parameters on heat transfer and friction behavior in helix-alike internal cooling channel of the gas turbine blades. The numerical results were compared with the experimental data
and they agreed very well with each other. Results show that
with the increase of helix-alike fin leading angle
heat transfer enhancement is improved more significantly and at the mean time pressure penalty also becomes higher in the internal cooling duct. The results also indicate that air flow direction has less effect on heat transfer enhancement
but the flow resistance with reverse coolant direction is markedly higher than that with normal coolant direction. In addition
based on the results of the numerical simulation
the configuration of fins with leading angle 7? and fluid flow with normal coolant direction give the best overall performance.
