A numerical simulation on the unsteady flow of turbine element stages with different stator solidity was conducted to investigate the stator solidity influence on the turbine element stage rotor unsteady potential interference
stator wake interference with rotor and the element stage performance unsteadiness and to explore the stator solidity influence mechanism on rotor-stator interaction. The research results show that the rotor unsteady potential interference in upstream stator passages becomes stronger as stator solidity increases
but damps faster and influences more narrowly;the stator solidity change causes the change of wake interference intensity by altering the wake intensity
wake interference frequency and the flow status in rotor passages;then the element stage performance unsteadiness is altered by the change of wake interference intensity.
