Intersection is the basic node of the urban road network. How to enforce traffic control rationally is the critical to settle the problem of congestion in the urban road. The subject of the text is the choice for the signal control strategy between isolated and a sequence of intersection. The main factors which are potential to influence the signal control strategy are determined on the basis of survey and analysis of twenty-two intersection in the four artery roads
