This paper analyses the functional requirements of optical multicast in ASON based on SDH at first. Then several models of optical multicast for different connecting schemes under the network environment of ASON based on SDH are proposed. In the end

the implementation scheme is discussed from several aspects such as functional framework

signalling extension and implementation procedure.
