Numerical simulation on outlet flow field of a double-swirler with misalignment of the first and second stages was performed by Fluent software
and standard k-ε model was chosen for the turbulence model. The numerical simulation was conducted on three configurations with different misaligned dimensions (0
0.5
1.7mm) and validated against the test data. The results show that misalignment has significant influence on the outlet flow field of a double-swirler
and distortion on the recirculation zone has already appeared since 0.5mm misalignment. Meanwhile
the zone with peak radial velocity is located at the region of X/D=0.5~1.0. Numerical simulations agree well with the test results for both axial and radial velocities.
