Influence of Bogie′s Mass Parameters and Suspension Parameters on Vehicle Stability
Bogie structure of railway vehicle is various at home and abroad nowadays
different structure and layout will lead to the difference of bogie mass and inertia in terms of distribution. In order to study the influence of bogie mass parameters on hunting stability under different suspension parameters
the linear differential equation of the lateral vehicle dynamics model with 21 degree of freedoms was derived
in which the Maxwell model was taken into account. According to the latent root stability criteria
the critical velocity of vehicle system was calculated by minimum damping ratio method. The sensitivity analysis method was used to study the influence of mass and inertia on stability
and the comparison of the influence of unsprung mass and the mass between primary suspension and secondary suspension. The results suggested that the influence of bogie mass parameters on stability is related to suspension parameters greatly
the joint influence of mass parameters and suspension parameters should be considered in bogie structure design and layout adjustment. The critical velocity decreases with the increase of mass and inertia of wheelset and frame inertia under different suspension parameters. When the damping coefficient of yaw damper has a smaller value
the critical velocity decreases with the increase of frame mass
but when the damping coefficient of yaw damper has a larger value
the critical velocity increases with the increase of frame mass. The unsprung mass shows greater influence on stability than the mass between primary suspension and secondary suspension.
