Fatigue Life Analysis of Reducer Gears for Battery Electric Vehicle Considering Regenerative Braking
The braking mode of BEV (Battery electric vehicle) is different from the traditional friction braking. The reverse torque generated by electromagnetic braking on the driving axle changes the working condition of the transmission gears
thus affecting their service life.On CLTC (China light vehicle test cycle)
the stress-time history of the transmission gear of electric vehicle was analyzed
and the fatigue life of the gears considering the influence of the electromagnetic braking and friction braking separately were calculated. The results show that under the influence of the electromagnetic braking
both the contact and bending fatigue life of the pinion are reduced. Therefore
the influence of the electromagnetic braking can′t be ignored in the high-precision calculation of fatigue life of transmission gear of BEV and the accurate prediction of the remaining life.
