Contact Finite Element Analysis of Two-stage Gear Transmission System and Offset Design of Gear Web
the bending and torsional deformation of the supporting shafts will cause the mesh misalignment between the mating tooth surfaces of gear pairs
and then affect the contact stress distribution of the tooth surface along the gear width. Based on the ANSYS software
the contact finite element model for a two-stage gear transmission system by considering the shaft flexibility was established
and the contact stress distribution along gear width under the solid and web-type condition are investigated respectively. The results show that for solid gear and web gear
the contact stress of tooth surface of each gear pair is obviously biased. When the web of the web gear is offset
the contact stress distribution along the tooth width of each gear pair changes obviously. Through the rational offset design of gear web
the phenomenon of offset load along the width direction of gear pair tooth surface contact stress can be effectively improved.
