With the rapid development of cloud computing

the network performance based on linux kernel can’t fulfil next generation high throughput requirement. Smart Nic which based on hardware offload was introduced to ensure large network throughput together with more flexible applications. This article summarized several networking offload methodologies of Smart Nic

and also gathered some experiment test results to present performance boost. Cloud computing network based on hardware offload is undoubtedly an important direction of future development.
