C / SiC composite lattice core sandwich structures are considered as promising candidates for future high temperature applications of thermal protection systems such as hypersonic vehicles because of their lightweight
superior strength
thermal protection and erosion resistance properties. C / SiC composite lattice core sandwich structure was fabricated by a technique that involved the polymer impregnation and pyrolysis( PIP) method and interweaving process. The C / SiC composite lattice core sandwich structure were then heat treated at 1 200℃ and1 600℃ for 30 min respectively. The experimental compressive mechanical properties of C / SiC composite lattice core sandwich structure after heat treatment were compared with those at room temperature. It is found that there is obvious decrease for the C / SiC composite lattice core sandwich structure after heat treatment. However
the compressive strength C / SiC composite lattice core sandwich structure after heat treatment at 1 600℃ is higher than that at 1 200℃.
