the maximum distance of line of sight （LOS） radio propagation is presented in offshore area coverage. The radio wave propagation loss is derived and calculated according to the two-wave propagation characteristics above sea surface. Subsequently

the influence of rainfall

fog and cloud weather on radio propagation is analyzed

hence the rainfall and cloud loss calculation formula is proposed in offshore coverage environments. Finally

the radio coverage and propagation loss is analyzed in Taiwan Strait and Bohai Bay offshore area based on the foregoing conclusion.
