An approach to extending test range of the engine flight test bed by mounting a throttle screen before the tested engine is proposed. The relevant design principles of the throttle screen are given. The extended test limits by mounting a given throttle screen have been calculated. The rationality and feasibility of the approach have been proved by comparison of the calculated results with pressure loss data of an aircraft air-inlet screen.
