Numerical investigations on two parallel flows mixing process excited by the synthetic jets were performed to understand the effects of synthetic jet excitation parameters on the mixing process. As compared to the mixing flow field without synthetic jet excitation
the synthetic jets induce a complicated vortex structure in the mixing flow field through periodical blow-entrain action. These vortexes generate convective mixing between two parallel flows
making it helpful to shorten the length of primary flow core.As the synthetic jet excitation frequency or excitation amplitude increases
the vortex intensity and the mixing effectiveness are obviously enhanced.
