Design ideas and techniques applied in aeronautical turbomachinery were used to develop the impeller blood pump LAP-Ⅰ
which was designed for clinical use for Asian patients.By combining aeronautical turbomachinery technique with medical need
an integrated rotor and a cantilever stator were applied in the structure design
a further improvement was made in the tandem cascades stator and the impeller blood pump LAP-Ⅱ was obtained. The simulation results of computational fluid dynamics show that
the pressure rise characteristic of blood pump LAP-Ⅱ meets the medical requirement
and the flow status in the pump is fluent. The maximal comparative shear stress (S) value is reduced evidently;and the streamlines show that the longest time required for blood to travel through the pump is decreased
thus the property of anti-hemolytic application is improved.
