Based on the velocity boundary conditions of the continuous model
the first order slip model and the new WU slip model
the slip modified Reynolds equation considering the rarefied effect was established. Combined with the Newtons method and the finite difference method to solve the modified Reynolds equation
the pressure distribution and bearing capacity of each pad of the tilting pad gas bearing considering the rarefaction effect were calculated. The results showed that the greater the eccentricity
the greater the rotation speed
the greater the compression coefficient and the greater the bearing capacity of the tilting pad gas bearing. After considering the rarefied effect
the calculated bearing capacity of the tilting pad dynamic pressure gas bearing significantly decreased
and as the Knudsen number increased
the bearing capacity calculated by the new WU slip model was significantly lower than the first-order slip model.
