Taking the arc tooth cylindrical gear as a hypothetical tool
a non-orthogonal arc tooth surface gear was proposed based on the gear meshing principle
and the single tooth full tooth surface of this type of gear was mathematically modeled to calculate the effective tooth width. The Catia secondary development verified the calculated tooth width value
and discussed the change rule of the tooth width of this kind of face gear by changing the size of the shaft intersection angle and the pressure angle. Results showed that: when the shaft intersection angle continued to increase
the inner and outer diameters gradually increased
and the increase of the change curve of the outer diameter was more obvious than the inner diameter
so the effective tooth width continued to increase. As the pressure angle continued to increase
the inner and outer diameters gradually decreased
and the inner diameter change curve decreased more than the outer diameter
