Superalloy GH4169 is a typical difficult-to-machine material
and the surface integrity of milled parts directly affects its fatigue properties. In this paper
considering the residual stress distribution on the subsurface in the milling
the influence terms of the fatigue life prediction model were modified based on the parameters of work hardening and surface morphology
and the influence proportions of the surface integrity index on the fatigue life were analyzed. The experimental results show that the fatigue life of GH4169 can be accurately predicted by using the prediction model which considers the influence term of surface integrity. In the range of milling parameters
comparing with the surface topography
subsurface residual stress and surface work hardening have greater influence on the fatigue life and restrict each other. The mean value of residual stress between the milled surface and the depth of the maximum residual compressive stress and the work hardening characterized by the surface residual stress can reflect the variation trend of fatigue life.
