Virtual reality modeling language (VRML) is a primary file format used in power visualization systems for transmitting 3D models. In the context of transmission line inspection and maintenance
existing VRML files often exhibit large data volumes and complex structures
resulting in low compression rates and limited transmission efficiency. To address these challenges
a binary compression encoding method for VRML files is proposed in this paper. By employing structural hierarchy parsing
attribute difference marking
and a local consistency compression strategy
the proposed method effectively eliminates redundant node structures and point attribute data. Experimental results show that
under optimal compression conditions
the method achieves a compression ratio of up to 26∶1 on typical inspection models
significantly outperforming traditional general-purpose compression tools
while preserving the visualization quality and structural integrity. These results confirm the method's practicality and strong potential for engineering deployment.
