This paper discusses conditions of applying SDM in TD-SCDMA and LTE. To take full advantages of HW resources and increase throughput of the system

we use space isolation of outdoor antennas and isolation of indoor multi-channel devices in different layers to implement SDM. In the condition of reusing traffic channels

the proposed SDM can increase frequency usage and system throughput. Because control channels cannot be reused

subscriber capability supported by the SDM is limited by the numbers of control channels.
