Numerical simulation of mould filling process can predict the locations and causes of the defects

and provide scientific guidance for the actual production. In order to study the development of numerical simulation of the filling process

according to the basic theory of the mold filling process

the development of numerical simu- lation of mould filling has been reviewed and the commentary has been made. The widely used numerical simulation methods and verification methods were summarized. There are still some problems that have been elaborated. Some expectations for the further development in this field were made.
