Abstract: High-feed milling roughing process is a new method which has significant advantages in terms of improving efficiency in the processing difficult materials. In this paper, the experiment of TiAlN Coated Carbide indexable Tool high-feed milling GH4169 were carried out. The influence of the cutting speed and the feed per tooth, and the amount of tool wear on cutting forces are researched. Through microstructure and spectroscopy of the flank wear area to study the mechanism of tool wear. The flank wear condition are detected to analysis the mechanisms of tool wear. The results show that the effect of feed per tooth on the cutting forces is significant, and tool wear has great impact on the axial cutting force component. The axial cutting force increased from 854 N to 1 863 N in the process of the blunt; The impact on the life of tool more significant is the cutting speed,When the cutting speed is increased to 110 m /min,the tool life is just 2 min; Through spectroscopy worn area nearby thecutting edge,a lot of Ni,Fe,Cr and other elements which belong to GH4169 materials were found,so adhesive and flaking and chipping of cutting edge caused by thermal cracking are the main form of tool wear.
