Allyl compounds and polyether sulfone(PES) were used tomodify bismaleimide.Meanwhile
organically montmorillonite(OMMT) was doped to prepare OMMT/PES/BMImulti-phasecomposites. Themicrostructure and mechanical properties
thermal properties and therelationship between them were studied and analyzed. SEM test results showed thatPES resin and OMMT dispersed uniformly in polymer matrix and the interfacebetween the two phases was not clear and the bond was close
external stresswas absorbed
transfered and dissipated effectively
while the content of OMMTwas appropriate
so that the composites exhibited ductile fracture.Mechanical properties of the composites showed that bending strength and impactstrength reached 139.36MPa and 14.77 kJ/mm2
to improve 39.38% and57.96% thanthat of the matrix
respectively
when the content of OMMT is 3%. Thethermal decomposition temperature (Td) of the composite materials decreasedslightly because of PES
but this phenomenon could be remedy by OMMT
Td ofcomposite (3%OMMT/2%PES/BMI) reached 456.76℃and improved 17.68℃than that of the matrix.
