Aiming at the welding deformation problem of the rectangular flange of large container raised seat
the property and mechanism of the deformation were analyzed in combination with the simulation result of the welding process
and the influence of the welding sequence on the deformation was investigated. The results showed that the transverse shrinkage of the surface of the large size fillet weld between the flange and the vertical wall plates is much larger than that of weld root
and the obvious angular deformation is caused; Meanwhile
because the fillet weld deviated from the structural neutral axis and located below the neutral axis
so the flange exhibited a upward convex flexure deformation. The deformation of flange welding structure is the result of the combined action of angular deformation and flexural deformation. The flange flatness determines the leakage state of the container. The flange flatness is the smallest ( about 1.8 mm) under the symmetrical welding sequence from the length center welding to the width center
which is 53% of the symmetrical welding sequence from the width center welding to the length center.
