The exit flow fields of a turbine cascade with or without the front guide vanes were investigated. The measured results show that the similar vortex structures are formed in these two cases
but the mechanisms of their formations are different. In addition
the amounts and distributions of the losses in the case with the front guide vane are also changed in comparison with those in the cascade without the front guide vanes.
